Import your family tree from other genealogy software using GEDCOM format.
What is GEDCOM?
GEDCOM (Genealogical Data Communication) is the standard format for sharing family tree data between different programs.
Importing a GEDCOM File
- Go to your Dashboard
- Click "Import Tree"
- Select "GEDCOM Import"
- Upload your .ged file
- Review import summary
- Click "Complete Import"
What Gets Imported
- All individuals and relationships
- Birth, death, and marriage dates
- Locations and places
- Notes and sources
- Events and facts
Import Limitations
- Photos must be uploaded separately
- Some custom fields may not transfer
- Large files (10,000+ people) may take time
