Learn about the different permission levels and what they can do.
Viewer
Basic read-only access:
- ✓ View all family members
- ✓ See photos and documents
- ✓ Read stories and notes
- ✗ Cannot add or edit
- ✗ Cannot delete anything
- ✗ Cannot invite others
Editor
Full editing capabilities:
- ✓ Everything Viewers can do
- ✓ Add new family members
- ✓ Edit existing information
- ✓ Upload photos and documents
- ✓ Add stories and notes
- ✗ Cannot delete people
- ✗ Cannot invite others
Manager
Administrative access (Premium/Unlimited plans):
- ✓ Everything Editors can do
- ✓ Delete family members
- ✓ Invite new collaborators
- ✓ Change others' permissions
- ✓ Remove collaborators
Tree Owner
Complete control:
- ✓ Everything Managers can do
- ✓ Delete the entire tree
- ✓ Transfer ownership
- ✓ Export data
